Lead Times
How long does it take to receive an order?
All furniture and vanities are made to order, and therefore aren't generally available straight away.
While we will endeavour to have your furniture pieces ready as soon as possible, please allow 4-8 weeks lead time from the time of your order, to shipping (or pickup) from our workshop.
Payment, Deposits, Returns, Exchanges
How can we purchase your products?
You can purchase them right here on our website, or over the phone, or via email and invoice. If you prefer to order over the phone or email, please get in contact with us.
You may pay a 50% deposit upfront for our furniture and vanity products, and pay the remaining amount upon completion (before shipping or pickup); or you can choose to pay the full balance upfront. Homewares and smaller items will need to be fully paid, upfront.
Do you accept returns?
We do not offer refunds for any purchases, as they are made to order. However, if an item is damaged or faulty, we will replace or repair it upon approval of a claim. Please refer to our Refund & Returns Policy for more information.
Can we cancel or change an order after payment has been made?
Cancelations or changes to orders must be made within 24 hours of order placement by getting in contact with us.
Can we exchange items if they do not work in our home?
As all our furniture and vanities are made to order, they cannot be exchanged. Please choose your product(s) carefully before order placement and ensure the dimensions are correct for your home or space. If you are uncertain if colours or finishes work for you, we suggest you get in contact with us and order some samples or arrange a time to view some of our current stock or works in progress.
For all our homewares items, we offer a 7-day return policy. The item must be returned to us in person or by post, in it's original condition. Please refer to our Refund & Returns Policy for more information.
Local Pickup, Shipping & Delivery
Can I pickup my furniture pieces?
We offer free local pickup from Mittagong, NSW.
Do you offer shipping to other regions of Australia?
Yes! We offer shipping through our trusted freight company. The shipping rate will vary depending on the ordered items and your location. Please contact us for a shipping quote at info@timbersmith.au.
If you make your order online, the shipping fee will be invoiced to you separately, after you have purchased your item(s).
Timbers & Finishes
What timbers do you work with?
We work with four core timbers throughout our collection: Cedar, Oregon, American Oak and Blackbutt. Please refer to our product listings to see what timber is available for each design.
Where does the timber you use come from?
We hand select the timber we use on your furniture and vanities. We use a combination of new and recycled timber, depending on availability and suitability for the purpose. We endeavour to source timber locally and recondition it, giving it a new lease on life. Sometimes specific timbers are not available locally and will be ordered in. If locally sourced timber is especially important to you, please get in contact to discuss the availability of your desired timber.
What finishes do you use?
Whether you choose a Sun Bleached or Raw (Natural) finish, we use a high quality, durable clear coat as a final finish on all our furniture and vanities. This finish has an extra matte sheen appearance and doesn't yellow or enhance the colour of the timber. It provides the furniture with exceptional durability and protection against the demands of everyday life, all while maintaining the pre-finished appearance of the natural timber.

Do you offer custom orders?
We offer some customisation to our range. Please contact us with your request and we will review it and provide a custom quotation.
Showroom and Viewings
Do you have a showroom or somewhere I can see the furniture first?
A showroom is on the way! While it’s not fully set up yet, you can still book an appointment to view furniture samples, works in progress, and limited floor stock items. If there is something specific you would like to see in the flesh, please get in contact with us and we would be more than happy to arrange a time for you to view any of the items we have in stock or are in the process of crafting.
Are there samples of the timber and finishes available?
Yes, we can arrange to send you samples of the timbers and finishes we use. Please get in contact with us to arrange this.
